Why MI Media?

We thought you’d never ask! When you are looking at prospective producers for your project, what are the best reasons for hiring that person?  Perhaps they’ve worked on projects that seem similar to your own.  Perhaps they have a long list of credits working on projects for national clients. Both are important criteria, but we believe the most important thing is how well those particular producers — hopefully US — can work with YOU.  On every project we’ve done, we bring a consistent set of guidelines to the table:

1.  We listen to you, the client

If we’re going to be trusted to deliver an important message about your company, product or service, we want to completely understand your mission as a company as well as your goals for making a video.  We take great pride in providing the guidance you need.

When you go to a car mechanic, a hairdresser or an architect with a specific need,
they don’t suddenly take over and do whatever THEY wish.  The same standards
must hold true for a video producer – give the client what they want and need!

2.  We’ve been “around the block”

In addition to working as an independent producer on projects ranging from large organizational profiles to short public service announcements, Mark Ireland has profiled over 100 Maine companies for Maine Public Broadcasting’s Made in Maine.  His colleagues have come to recognize his unique sets of skills:

“When I was asked to produce a series of short documentaries for Museum L/A I knew immediately who to call for video and editing services.  Maine native Mark Ireland knows this state inside out.  From producing MPBN’s “Made in Maine” to countless other television and independent video projects, he is recognized as a tireless promoter of the people, places and businesses of the Pine Tree State.” ~Bill MaroldoEchoes in Time

3. We will be JUST as creative as the project demands

For any product or service to be understood by the viewer it’s important to convey the right facts and figures.  But a good video can go far beyond conveying raw data.  With some creative tweaking it can motivate and inspire.  Mainly, it should leave the viewer wanting more!

“Mark Ireland is amongst the most responsible leaders and creative thinkers I know.  I would highly recommend him”. ~Richard Kane, Chair,  Maine FIlm & Video Association

Having served for the past two years on the board of the Maine Film & Video Association Mark has forged great connections with many colleagues.  He knows the right people to bring on board as required by the project.

4.  A commitment to craft a budget that works for you

It’s almost shocking how much variance there can be on budgets for the same project from one producer to the next.  Some of this is based on quality and expertise to be sure.  But just as often it seems to be arbitrary.  Our budgets simply reflect the amount of time and resources your project demands.  If you need to keep costs down, we pride ourselves in showing you ways to make that happen.*

5. We want to leave you — the client — and the audience, thrilled about the project!

Making a video should be fun!  It should be gratifying to see your product or message take shape right there in front of your eyes!  Likewise, your audience should feel good.  AND – they should feel motivated to act.

“Mark exceeded my expectations. His care, self-reliance, flexibility and positive attitude made this project go smoothly….he can envision an entire project while zeroing in on a small detail; an ability that helped give our project a natural flow and tell our story clearly and with the proper feeling. I’d work with Mark again in a heartbeat”. ~Jon LeVeen,  Against the Tide
